I’m very excited to share Daniel & Deanne’s beautiful Portland engagement photos! It was an extremely rainy couple of day that lead up to the session, it rained all the day before and I was very much worried about the weather. I frantically emailed Deanne and asked (again) if they were okay with the rain, getting wet, walking around the mud and she so calmly replied that they were both absolutely fine and wanted to continue as scheduled.
And so I arrived and feel absolutely in love with the scenery and all was well.We definitely had a little luck on our side. The rain subsided just long enough for half our session. And so we walked around while I frantically asked them to stop everywhere because I loved everything about the area In the meantime, Daniel & Deanne were super cool and absolutely ridiculously gorgeous. They told me that they loved fall and the rain so it was a perfect setting for their engagement photos. And then it all made so much sense!I gave them very little posing instructions for the most part, I love to see how easily they fall into poses sometimes, especially the smaller details. Perfect location for the perfect couple.
And I remember this moment. This is pretty much when the rain started coming back in. I asked them to stand still for a moment as I attempted to switch to a wider sense to capture the full scene. They didn’t seem to mind gazing into each other’s eyes so after I changed lenses I turned around and captured this. And for the remainder of the session the lovely Portland rain came upon us, which ended up giving us an awesome change for their session. I love how calm they look all the while they were looking at me holding the camera with one hand while trying to hold an umbrella with the other. Granted, I had a camera jacket to cover my camera, but decided to forgo it because I didn’t want to loose any time. I’m sure I looked ridiculous. But then this happened and it all was worth it. Thank you Daniel & Deanne for meeting me on that rainy Portland day. I am excited to see what you do with your engagement photos and can’t wait to see your wedding take place next year!
