Day After Wedding Photos is probably one of the best ideas for a bride and groom to consider. This session is a great add on to any bride & groom who want to take some great images and might not have enough time during their wedding day or who would prefer a different location. It gives us ample time to get a little messy and create some stunning images and I’m glad I had the good fortune to do so in the following instance.
I had photographed Maileen & Doug’s reception a few months back but was unable to photograph their ceremony or formals due to their ceremony site having an agreement with an on location photographer. We decided to take a nice drive out to meet a Day After session and make sure they had the images they could treasure for their lifetime. Maileen & Doug love hiking and go hiking at the Valley of Fire at least once every few months to enjoy the views and I jumped at the idea to have a session at such a beautiful and meaningful location for this gorgeous couple.I kind of love this portrait. The simple and open demeanor of Maileen & Doug vs the vast and unique location. Gawd…I sound like an art student. As much as I would love to say that I always know what or where I’m going to shoot, I definitely get a lot of inspiration during an actual session by either the surroundings or the light. In this case, I had Maileen & Doug drive up behind me and I just decided to stop the car on the side of the road and take a few photos in between passing cars. And in case anyone didn’t know. My all time favorite movie OF ALL TIME is Gone with the Wind. See inspired photo below.
