Let’s be honest, this is kind of a unique post. First of all, all the shoots featured here are based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Second of all, all these sessions are actually family sessions!
Yes, that’s right: I actually shoot family sessions…occasionally. Way back in the day, (aka, 3 years ago) I was your will-shoot-anything-under-the-sun-photographer. Little leagues, I shot them. Newborn babies, I posed them. Commercial events, I was tots there. Baptisms, school pictures, anniversaries, birthdays, modeling headshots, children photos, greenscreens, quinceñeras, photo booths; I did that. ALL OF THAT. After I moved to Oregon, I vowed to specialize in the things that I loved the most. Enter weddings and high school seniors. However, I have very beautiful and fond memories of everyone I met and photographed in my rough and tough early years. (which really wasn’t so early considering I started shooting back in 2001.)
I am so thankful for all my previous clients who have remained my friends throughout my transition. Some of which I’ve photographed over and over and over again, and have seen them grow year after year. So, when one of my past clients/friends asked if I would be willing to travel back to Las Vegas to do a family session for the holidays, I opened up a few spots to see if there were enough takers to make the trip down South.
As it turns out, there were. So down I flew! I booked my hotel and my car. I kissed my husband on cheek, petted my Harley Quinn and off I went to meet my old friends.
First up were the Landers. Who have since added another sweet member to their family. Sweet little Evan is more handsome and bigger than ever, and the family is, of course, as fashionable as always.
I met my sister-in-law on my trip and had the honor to meet the man who stole her heart. I’m not going to lie, I’m kind of excited to see how glowing she was. And yes, I know, she’s gorgeous.
I had the pleasure to meet the rest of the family, who is all very photogenic.
Then I stopped to meet up with the Klines who also added another bundle of joy of their own while I was away. This young family is so beautiful, loving and supportive. I love seeing all their FB post about how wonderful, silly and perfectly un-perfect their lives are as they watch these two perfect little souls grow. I mean, if anyone can rock a family photo in a bathroom, they definitely deserve kuddos.
And oh my gosh. So the lady to the far right is legit, my BFF for vida. We met at work and before you knew it we were inseparable. I’ve photographed her engagement session, her wedding, her maternity photos, newborn baby photos, multiple family photos and I had to pleasure to photograph her and her family again on this trip. Literally, everyone needs a BFF like mine. I tell her everything with absolutely no filter or guilt, no embarrassment and no judgment. But, back to this blog post. SHE JUST HAD ANOTHER BABY! Yay! I was there when little miss Harper was about a week old. Blake, who is my mini BFF, loves her baby sister and I’m so excited to see them both grow as sisters. Perfect timing for a mini session.
So that’s the post for today. Thank you so much for everyone who spent time with me in Las Vegas and making the trip a wonderful reunion with so many friendly faces. Hopefully we can do it all over again next year!
