It’s good to be back.
It’s been a minute. A year for some, but for most almost 2 years. At the end of 2016 I started getting what I now know was burn out. I started wanting change but didn’t really know what that looked like. Inexplicably, I started withdrawing from my business. I took a little longer to reply back to new inquiries, I stopped updating my blog, I did the bare minimum.
Without much of an understanding of why I felt the way I did, I decided to take time off. In 2017 I stopped booking new weddings or shoots. I photographed my last wedding in June of 2018 and took some time to be still. I went from busy to being the epitome of Netflix and Chill (the over 30 years old version). And while at first I felt relief, I soon realized that doing a full 180 of my previous life was not a good balance either. Quite honestly, I missed photography, the creativity and the experiences I gained through this work.
So I’m back! But this time we’re back. My husband Augusto is going to play a big role in this version of my business. He’s going to give me some much needed relief in that I was too proud to ask for the first time around. And although you might not see much of him, he will be playing a very intricate roll in the backend of the business, including responding to emails, scheduling and invoicing.
In the upcoming weeks. I will be updating the blog with the weddings/sessions that I never blogged. I will also share a few photos from the adventures I had during my time off. 🙂
Thank you friends. We’re excited to be here.
