Holy Smokes! My first Attempt using a 10 Stop Neutral Density Filter!
A while ago I ordered my very first 10 Stop Neutral Density Filter. I mean, I do live in Oregon. I NEED to capture some of this amazing Oregonian beauty. And so, a few weeks after that we had some friends visit for a little over a week and my husband & I were absolutely bound & determined to show them how beautiful Oregon is. One of our first ideas was to head up to Multnomah Falls and it become the most perfect excuse to test out my new filter. Rookie mistake to follow.
The Rookie Mistake: When you use a Neutral Density Filter, especially at 10 stops, you must use a tripod. I knew this. I knew this. I knew this! I forgot my tripod. There I was, in front of all of sweet ol’ Multnomah Falls’ beauty. I think she mocked me. Seriously. I was still determined to test out my filter regardless and I stood as still as I could in 15 second increments until this ONE shot was in focus. ONE SHOT. Don’t ask me how many I took, how long I stood there, or what I was using to try to stabilize. But here, in all it’s glory: my first attempt using a 10 stop neutral density filter.
Ok, so really. I only had one major mistake..but it was big! But if this is the beginning of my love with my new Neutral Density filter so be it. I’m still in love!
What a beautiful shot, Susie! I’m glad we gave you a good opportunity to try out your new equipment!
It was really great having you over Lilly! Thanks for giving me an excuse to go out on a little excursion.
