What a weird year 2020 has been! We’ve all had our life’s altered one way or another, so I’m glad to bring some normality to at least my life with a sneak peek of James & Rebecca’s beautiful garden wedding.

The last wedding I photographed was in March, right as we were learning more about COVID and a day or so before guidelines around social gatherings took place. There was a sense of gravity in the air but without any definite direction. Since then, I’ve had a few weddings cancel or postpone, rightfully so.
And as we approached Rebecca & James’ wedding, we made adjustments to their wedding package & timeline in light of this pandemic. The results, I’m glad to say, were a refreshing change!

I quickly realized how much I’ve missed seeing genuinely happy-in-love couples. Being witness to how affectionate James was towards Rebecca, and how fun and excited Rebecca was, was magical. I forgot how my job as a photographer tugs at my heart.

Walking under the tall trees and around the creek gave them enough tender moments with one another to remind me why I love this job. And while I focused on composition and F-Stops, James & Rebecca shared so many tender moments together that make my camera jump for joy. .

Their wedding vows to one another and the blessings their friends and family shared with them brought so much positive energy. I again, found myself chuckling and saying “aww” behind my camera lens.
So here is to Rebecca & Jame’s beautiful Garden Wedding in Portland. I hope this gives hope to other couples as they maneuver their wedding during the quarantine. The good news: it’s absolutely possible.
